US peace festival to screen Iran films

The 2018 edition of the International Peace & Film Festival in the US has set to screen three short films from Iran.

‘White Shadows’ by Mehdi Amini, ‘Track’ by Reza Golchin and ‘Hypnotism’ by Arshia Zeinali will represent Iran at the short film section of the US event.

The 6-minute ‘White Shadows’ is about a young man who takes a seat next to another passenger on the subway. There is no interaction between them. But their shadows, projected on the floor, show us the alternative of a relationship made of small but significant gestures of altruism and collaboration.

The 9-minute ‘Hypnotism’ tells the routine story of the people who are involved thoroughly in the modern life and their human identity is manipulated by change in their unconscious mind and a self-made sleep.

The 4-minute ‘Track’ depicts a long difficult path where children take to attend school in mountains near the Iranian city of Talesh.

The festival will also screen Iranian animated feature ‘Release from Heaven’ directed by Ali Nouri-Oskouei.

The International Peace and Film Festival is founded as an outreach project for people of all nations to come together and engage in peace and cultural exchange, the official website of the event wrote.

The festival offers an immersive experience in worldwide independent film, culture, fashion, and art in a non political environment.

The 2018 edition of the event is scheduled to be held on January 18-20.
